GOLF | Cohen, Sagoo Lead Gaels to Top-5 Finish

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Saint Mary’s dropped one spot on the final day, but finished with another top-5 mark as Perry Cohen and Pavan Sagoo led the way with top-10 finishes on the leaderboard at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon.


  • No. 44 Kansas ran away with the team title, finishing with a final 289 to end at 11-under par 853. No. 42 Purdue and Michigan finished as the runner-up at 10-over par, while Washington State shot even-par in the final round to finish in fourth. 

  • The Gaels shot a 15-over during the tournament for their fourth top-5 finish of the 2017-2018 season. 
  • No one in the field shot a round in the 60s as the conditions were tough at the Desert Mountain, Outlaw Course. 
  • Cohen finished with his second consecutive top-5 finish on the leaderboard. The senior ended tied-fourth at three-under par. 
  • Sagoo shot a final round 76 but ended in solo 10th for his third top-10 finish of the season. 
  • The Gaels finished second in the field in par 5 scoring (-13).
  • Connor Blick and Brandon Jacobs both shot a final round 75 and finished tied-27th and tied-31st, respectively.
  • Saint Mary’s will head to San Diego for the Lamkin Grips Classic from March 12-13. 
  • The tournament will be hosted at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
