GOLF | Gaels Look to Continue Strong Play at Desert Mountain Intercollegiate

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — With seven straight top-10 finishes and a current No. 37 ranking in the latest Golfstat rankings, Saint Mary’s looks to continue to its solid play in this week’s Desert Mountain Intercollegiate at the Desert Mountain Outlaw Course from March 3-4.

Hosted by the University of Michigan, 12 teams will battle for the team title, with seven teams inside the top-100 Golfstat relative rankings. SMC (37), Purdue (42), Kansas (45), Miami (54), Lipscomb (67), Michigan (71) and Utah (80) headline the field.

Fresno State, Nebraska, Oregon State, San Diego and Washington State round out the tournament’s field.

A total of nine individuals will be in the field competing for the indy title.

Playing 54 holes in two days, The Desert Mountain Intercollegiate will play a par 72 at 7,107 yards. 36 holes will be played on Saturday, with the final round on Sunday.

The Gaels will be paired with Purdue and Utah to open the tournament on Day one. Formatted for a shotgun start, tee times are scheduled for 8 a.m. MST and approximately 1 p.m. MST for the second round on Saturday.
