MSOC | Rudel Honored on All Region Third Team

Dec. 2, 2017

MORAGA, Calif. — Sophomore striker Jake Rudel was honored with another postseason award, as he was named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA DI All Far West Region Third-Team.

A total of 11 All-Region award recipients hailed from the West Coast Conference.

This is Rudel’s first appearance on the All Region teams after the dangerous striker had a career year for the Gaels.

Rudel finished 2017 with six goals and 13 points. The sophomore shifted roles in his second season after being named on the WCC All Freshman Team in 2016 as a defender. The striker’s six goals ranked tied for third in the WCC with six goals.

The second year player also recorded the program’s first hat-trick since 2006 during the 5-0 victory over Loyola Marymount.

Rudel was named All-WCC First Team for the first time in his career after being named on the All-Freshmen team back in 2016.
