MTEN | Gaels Fall In Competitive Match Versus Gauchos

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team (2-6) competed in tough competitive matches on the road against UC Santa Barbara (5-3) but fell, 6-1 Saturday afternoon.

Matis Bot was the only Gael who won with a three-set victory over the Gauchos.

Damon Kesaris and Nash Vollenweider were locked into the close battle on court one that did not finish while Santa Barbara pulled away with victories on courts two and three over the Gaels.

Damon Kesaris suffered his second loss on the season, but still leads the Gaels with an overall record, 6-2, on court one.

Saint Mary’s will continue its road series to San Luis Obispo on Sunday at 11 a.m to face Cal Poly.
