MTEN | Gaels Set To Compete In Sacramento Invitational

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team will continue its road trip to Sacramento for the Golden State Tennis Invitational held from Friday to Sunday, March 9-11. Saint Mary’s will face UT Arlington on Friday at 10 a.m at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts.

The 2018 Golden State Invitational tournament consists of eight competitive teams such as UT Arlington, Sacramento State, Hawai’i, Grand Canyon, Nevada, UC Davis, Seattle and Saint Mary’s.

Damon Kesaris leads the Gaels with a 6-2 record in the No. 1 spot followed by Nash Vollenweider who holds a 4-5 record in the No. 2 spot in single matches.

The Hornets have a 2-7 overall record with a 1-3 record at home. Hermont Legaspi leads the Hornets in singles with a 4-1 record in the No. 4 spot. Mikus Losergs and Kasparas Zemaitelis leads the team in doubles at the No. 1 spot with a 5-3 record.

The Mavericks’ (7-4) are 1-2 on the road. Guanarteme Nuez, Enrique Pardo and Mauricio Del Rio lead with an 8-2 record at the top of the ladder in the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots. Nuez and Del Rio lead in doubles with a 6-1 record as the top doubles team for UTA.

Saint Mary’s will travel across the Bay Bridge to take on San Francisco on March 24.
