Lisa O'Meara enters her fifth season as an assistant coach with the Gaels in 2017-18, and her eighth season overall with the program.

Her current duties include academics, game preparation, recruiting, player development, opponent scouting, and summer camps. She also coordinates the male practice team, oversees all film breakdown and analytics, and helps create and design for various aspects of the program.

As the academic coordinator, the Gaels have placed 12 on the WCC All-Academic team and 34 on the WCC Honor Roll. In addition to having an impressive Graduation Rate, O’Meara has helped eight former Gaels pursue a post-graduate degree.

O'Meara has also been integral for the Gaels on the court, assisting in the coaching and development of four straight WCC All-Freshmen Team honorees, three of which who would go on to earn regular All-WCC honors (first team, second team, honorable mention).

O'Meara served three seasons as Saint Mary's Director of Women's Basketball Operations before being hired as an assistant. Her primary duties included organizing and distributing equipment, creating and posting social media on facebook, twitter etc., coordinating everything regarding video and film and all items related to team travel logistics and itineraries.

Collegiately, then Lisa Busch, she played at Saint Mary's during the 2006-07 season under head coach Paul Thomas (Thomas' first season at SMC). She then transferred to Lane Community College in her hometown in Eugene, Ore. The team went undefeated in the Southern Region Conference and finished third in the NWACC. O'Meara was part of an impressive 83 game home winning streak from 2002-11 at Lane. The streak was the longest home winning streak of any college basketball team, at any level, in the country. 

She received a one-year Fitness Technician Certificate at Lane in 2008. O'Meara played two years of basketball at Oregon Tech and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Management. She holds the record for most 3-pointers in a game (8), best career 3-point percentage (.418 135-323) and best career free throw percentage at .859. O'Meara was also an NAIA Academic All-American, co-captain and received the Outstanding Scholar Award for Management small-business major. 

O'Meara came back to Saint Mary's for the 2010-11 year as the Director of Basketball Operations and started the Master's program in Kinesiology. She earned her Master's in May of 2012.

In August of 2012, Lisa married Saint Mary's alumni and former All-American rugby player Brendan O'Meara in Ireland.
