MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary’s women’s basketball’s junior forward Megan McKay was named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week Monday for the week of Jan. 29-4 after her dominating performances against San Francisco and San Diego in last week’s conference play.

McKay scored 16 points on Thursday night’s matchup against USF and finished Saturday afternoon’s contest with 20 points and 10 rebounds against USD. She shot over 60.0 percent against the Dons and the Toreros while averaging double-digit points last week. McKay posted her third double-double of the season and shot a game-high on Saturday. After a 20-point game against USD, McKay is now 80 points away from reaching her 1,000 career-point as a junior for the Gaels.

McKay continues to lead the Gaels, averaging 15.1 points per game while pulling down 6.7 rebounds. Her 59.5 shooting percentage from the field is second in the West Coast Conference.

Saint Mary’s will host Loyola Marymount at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday before heading on the road to face WCC leader Gonzaga at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
