SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Four Saint Mary’s women’s basketball players student-athletes earned West Coast Conference All-Academic Team honors Wednesday, including senior guard Stella Beck who was named to the first team for the third straight year.

Stella Beck is knowledgeable on and off the court with a 3.63 GPA in Psychology specializing in Neuroscience. Beck has started in all 27 games for the Saint Mary’s. Early in the season, Beck scored her 1,000th career point on Nov. 24 versus UCSB. She is two-time winner of the WCC Player of the Week award (Jan. 22, Feb. 19). Beck scored a career-high 31 points versus Pacific on Jan. 20 while averaging 14.8 points per game and has scored in double-figures in 21 games. In seven of those matchups, Beck recorded 20 or more points. Beck averages 5.8 rebounds per game, dishes out 3.2 assists and is second on the team shooting 59.7 percent from the field. Beck leads the team with 37 steals.

Jasmine Forcadilla, Joy Akaegbu-Cleveland and Claire Ferguson received All-Academic Honorable mention. Forcadilla has started in all 27 of the Gaels’ games this season. Forcadilla averages 7.4 points per game and leads the team with 3.4 assists per contest. Forcadilla recorded double-digit points in seven matchups while scoring a career high of 15 points versus Eastern Washington on Dec. 18. Akaegbu-Cleveland has appeared in 25 of the Gaels’ 27 matchups this season. She comes off the bench averaging 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 points per game. Ferguson has played in all 27 games with one start at Portland on Jan. 27. Ferguson averages 3.1 rebounds per game. Ferguson grabbed a season-high eight boards at San Francisco on Feb. 1 and scored a career-high 13 points versus UCSB on Nov. 24.

Saint Mary’s concludes its regular season on the road against Pepperdine and Santa Clara this week before heading to the West Coast Conference Tournament in Las Vegas from March 1-6. Fans can find live coverage links for all games on SMCGaels.com.
