Saint Mary's women's basketball's Megan McKay averaged 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Saint Mary’s women’s basketball’s Megan McKay was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 6-12 after an impressive opening weekend against two Pac-12 Conference opponents.
McKay scored 22 points on 10 for 13 shooting and had a game-high 11 rebounds Sunday as the Gaels (1-1) beat Washington State in their 2017-18 home opener. She started the game a perfect 8 for 8 shooting and spread her scoring out evenly (10 points in the first half and 12 in the second) to help the Gaels come from behind in the second half.
McKay also added 17 points on 7 for 11 shooting at No. 20/25 California in the season opener on Friday. For the week, McKay averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting an impressive 70.8 percent in two games against Pac-12 opponents.
Saint Mary’s continues its month-long home stand Sunday with a 1 p.m. tip-off versus Cal Poly.
