Kellan Wilson joined the Saint Mary's women's soccer staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on June 7, 2016, and willl begin his second season coaching the Gaels in the fall of 2017.

Wilson served on the US Soccer National Training Staff in 2016 and 2017. He is responsible for training the goal keepers, recruiting, campus visits and building alumni relations.

Wilson, a 2003 graduate of Saint Mary's and a four-year letterwinner, returns to Moraga after a spending four years as an assistant with the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer program.

During his four years with the Titans, Cal State Fullerton won three Big West Conference regular season championships (2012, 2014, 2015), three Big West Tournament titles (2013, 2014, 2015) and made three NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014, 2015).

He also coaches with US Soccer in the Northern California US Soccer National Training Center and has served as the goalie coach/trainer for England National Team goalkeeper Karen Bardsley

As a collegian, Wilson played four seasons for the Gaels in 1999-01 and 2003, leading the West Coast Conference in saves three times with 115 stops in 2000, 85 more in 2001 and 110 as a senior in 2003.

After concluding his career at Saint Mary's, Wilson's playing career included professional stints overseas in Germany with VFL Osnabruck (2005-08) and Finland with Helsinki IFK (2010-11), helping the latter to the championship of the Finnish 2nd Division, and a stop with the San Francisco Seals in the USL's Premier Development League in 2008-09 where he stepped away from his spot in net to lead the team in goals.

Wilson's coaching experience includes three years at Acalanes High School in Lafayette, one season at his alma mater in 2008-09 and a year with the Seals in 2009-10.

Wilson graduated from Saint Mary's with a bachelor's degree in communications in 2003. He and his wife, Maija, reside in Walnut Creek with their daughter Madeleine, and son Kayden. Originally from Finland, Maija was a four-year starter in basketball at Saint Mary's who also competed for the country's national team.
