MORAGA, Calif. -- The Saint Mary's women's soccer team has signed 10 new recruits to NLIs in preparation for the 2018 season. The Gaels will look to build off last season when they earned their most points in conference play since 2003.

Carly Hittenmiller
Club: Santa Rosa United ECNL
Position: Midfield
High School: El Molino High School
Height: 5'6"

Hittenmiller is a versatile player who was named to the 2016-17 Team Snap All-State High School Team. She was a member of the NorCal PDP program and in 2014 attended the Midwest Regional PDP Camp in Medford, Ore.

Ava Nkadi
Club: Galaxy Blues FC
Position: Defender
High School: Oak Ridge High School
Height: 5'11"


Nkadi was a multi-sport athlete at Oak Ridge High as she ran cross country and track in addition to soccer. In 2015, Soccer Wire named her as a "Player to Watch" and she was also placed into the US National Team Player Pool during the same year. She trained at the US Soccer Training Center in 2014 and 2015 and in 2016 was a CIF State Finalist in the 4x400 relay.

"Ava was a player that we saw late in the recruiting process and she attended one of our camps in December. She took some time off from soccer in her sophomore and junior years and that led to her not being committed by the time we saw her. She has good size and is a very elite athlete who adds depth to our team in several positions. She is very competitive and is someone that should compete for playing time in several positions." - Travis Clarke


Josie Sherman
Club: Placer United Development Academy
Position: Defender
High School Wood Creek High School
Height: 5'8"


"Josie is a strong central defender who adds depth to our back line. She is very good on the tackle and can connect well out of the back. She does very well academically and will fit in very well to the culture of our program." - Travis Clarke

Emily Wright
Club: Pleasanton Rage ECNL
Position: Defender
High School: California High School
Height: 5'4"

"Emily is an athletic and quick defender who will add depth to our midfield and back lines. She has the physical ability to play multiple positions and that will help us a lot moving forward. She is very academic and very competitive and we are confident she will make positive contributions to our program and college." - Travis Clarke

Hailey Prentice

Club: Santa Clara Sporting
Position: Defender
High School: Archbishop Mitty
Height: 5'6"

Hailey was a decorated high school player, earning All-League honors twice as well as being named League Defender of the Year. She was named to the 2016-17 Team Snap All-State High School Team as well as the All-Mercury News First Team. Additionally, Prentice guided her club team to the Cal North State Cup and Surf Cup Championships.

"Hailey is one of the first 2018 recruits we went after. We saw her for the first time at Surf Cup a few years back and quickly saw how talented she was. She is an elite athlete who can play several positions and is someone we feel can be competitive for playing time early on in her career at SMC." - Travis Clarke

Kyllie Glock
Club: Santa Clara Sporting
Position: Forward
High School: Washington High School
Height: 5'4"

Playing alongside Hailey Prentice, Kyllie's club team won the Cal North State Cup and Surf Cup Championships. In her first three years of high school soccer, Glock scored 42 goals and notched 20 assists. She was named First Team All-League each year and was named the league MVP as a sophomore.

"Kyllie is a very exciting player. She is a very good athlete and soccer player. She has the ability to get ball out wide and attack defenders one versus one. She has enough pace to run past defenders and enough skill to create time and space for herself." - Travis Clarke

Amaya Tomlinson
Club: Earthquakes Development Academy
Position: Defender / Midfield
High School: Castro Valley High School
Height: 5'6"

"Amaya is a very technical and athletic player who can play anywhere in the back line or central midfield. She is very good at connecting with teammates in addition to being athletic enough to track some of the most elite athletes in our conference." - Travis Clarke

Kaytlin Brinkman
Club: Diablo FC / San Ramon FC WPSL
Position: Forward
High School: Freedom High School
Height: 5'8"

During her four seasons at Freedom High, Kaytlin scored 53 goals and had 13 assists. She was named All-League in each of her first three seasons and is also a member of the Cal North PDP program.

"Kaytlin is someone we think has the potential to be a goal scorer for us. She is very smart tactically and is very clean in front of the goal. She is athletic, has a lot of power and is very competitive." - Travis Clarke

Maya Alcantara
Club: I.E. Surf
Position: Defender / Midfield
High School: Los Osos
Height: 5'10"

Maya was a member of the 2013 Cal South Pro ODP Player Pool as well as a member of the 2014 Cal South PDP Program Player Pool.

"Maya will play center back or center mid for us. She is tall, great in the air and very technical. When we saw her the first time she was a forward and since then has been moved more to a central defender. Her ability to win balls in the air is something we did not have last year after Jackie Dutton got hurt and it will be very important in our success as we move forward." - Travis Clarke

Sean O'Brien
Club: Thorns Academy
Position: Forward
High School: Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep
Height: 5'7"

Sean was a member of the Cal North PDP team that won the 2017 Gothia Cup in Sweden. She was a former member of De Anza Force ECNL.

"Sean is a very fun player to watch play. She is very technical and powerful when she plays and has the ability to beat players one versus one in multiple ways." - Travis Clarke
