WSOC | Trio of Gaels Honored on All-WCC Teams

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — After another rising season which saw the most points in West Coast Conference action (10) since the 2003 season, Saint Mary’s women’s soccer had three players honored on the end of the season All-WCC teams, the conference announced today.

Senior Hannah Diaz earned her third straight honor on the First Team, Heather Seybert was named All-WCC Honorable Mention, while freshman defender Kelsey Hill was named on the All-Freshman Team.

Diaz finished her tremendous career at Saint Mary’s leading the 2017 Gaels in goals (7), assists (2), points (16), shots (46), shots on goal (18) and game-winning goals (4). The striker is tied for fourth all-time in the Gaels record book with 24 career goals.

A strong presence in the middle of the field, Seybert appeared in all 78 matches in her four year career at SMC. The center midfielder started in 74 games and played a key role in 2017 on both ends of the field. Seybert finished 2017 with two assists and 11 shots.

A strong defender, Hill started in all 19 matches in her first season at SMC. She scored her first career goal in the conference victory over Portland. A key piece in the backline, Hill committed just three fouls all season.
