WSOC | Gaels Have 10 Players Named WCC All-Academic

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Saint Mary’s women’s soccer had an impressive total of 10 players named All-Academic by the West Coast Conference, it was announced today.

One of the most dynamic players in program history, senior Hannah Diaz adds to her impressive resume with her name on the All-Academic team. The striker has a 3.5 cumulative GPA as a major in Politics. Diaz finishes her career tied for fourth in all-time goals (24), second in shots (184) and third in game-winning goals (10).

Fellow seniors Heather Seybert, Jackie Dutton and Valerie LaForge were honored Honorable Mention after making strong impacts on the pitch and in the classroom. Seybert played and started in all 19 matches of the season, recording two assists on the year.

Juniors Anyssa Dominguez and Jasmine Edwards both were named Honorable mention after playing in all 19 matches with 17 starts. Dominguez currently holds a 3.5 grade point average as a Biology major, while Edwards boasts a 3.5 GPA in Allied Health Science.

Four sophomores made the Honorable Mention list, as Jaylen Crim (3.3 GPA, Kinesiology Health and Performance), Jordyn Cunningham (3.6 GPA, Psychology), Sophie Santos (3.3 GPA, Psychology) and Anna Parker (3.6 GPA, Politics) round out the list of Gaels on the All-Academic teams.

The 2017 Gaels finished the year with their most points in conference action (10) since 2003.
