WSOC | Diaz Named All-West Regional Player

MORAGA, Calif. — Senior striker Hannah Diaz collected another postseason award to add to her resumé, as she was named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA DI All-West Region third-team, it was announced.

A total of eight All-Region award recipients hailed from the West Coast Conference.
For the third straight season, Diaz earned All-WCC first team honors.

“We are extremely proud of Hannah for this achievement,” said Saint Mary’s head coach Travis Clarke. “This is her third year in a row being on the All-Region team and that shows how impactful of a player she was at Saint Mary’s.”

Diaz finished her tremendous career at Saint Mary’s leading the 2017 Gaels in goals (7), assists (2), points (16), shots (46), shots on goal (18) and game-winning goals (4). The striker is tied for fourth all-time in the Gaels record book with 24 career goals.

The award continues a growing list of accomplishments for the Hidden Valley Lake native as she was named to the 2015 NSCAA NCAA DI All-West second team and 2016 NSCAA NCAA DI All-West third team. Diaz also earned the College Sports Madness WCC Freshman of the Year in 2014.

She has a long history of awards and records dating back to Middletown HS where she is the all-time record holder for goals (168), goals in a single season (60) and goals in a single game (10).
