WTEN | Gaels Face Big West Programs in Non-Conference Slate

MORAGA, Calif. -- Coming off a come from behind road win, Saint Mary’s women’s tennis (2-4) returns home to host defending Big West Conference champion UC Santa Barbara (3-4) on Saturday, Feb. 17 for an 11 a.m. first serve at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

After facing the Gauchos, the Gaels will hit the road to face UC Davis on Sunday at 12 p.m.

About the Gaels
SMC recorded its second win of the dual season after coming from behind to take the 4-3 win at Fresno State.

Senior Kareena Manji and Vanessa Nommensen clinched the win for SMC after winning in three-set matches on courts 4 and 6.

The top doubles duo of Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid continues to perform at a high level for the Gaels as the team is 2-1 so far on court 1.

About the Gauchos and Aggies
Reigning two-time Big West Conference champions, UCSB is 1-2 in its past three matches. The Gauchos are coming off losses at Pepperdine, and versus Kansas State, but blew past San Francisco.

UC Davis (6-1) is off to a hot start and have won its last three matches. The Aggies are coming off an impressive 4-2 win over Hawai’i at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. UCD will first face San Francisco on Saturday, Feb. 17 before hosting the Gaels on Sunday.
