CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
AS A SOPHOMORE (2024): Started 33 contests in right field as a sophomore for the Gaels...Slashed 0.247/0.345/0.260, providing a streaky bat in the bottom third of the SMC lineup...Scored 13 runs and drove in six...Swiped 6-of-7 bags successfully...Opened her season with a three game hit streak (2/16-18), one of two three game hit streaks on the season...Lone extra base hit of the season was a double against Utah Valley (2/17)...Scored a pair of runs against Iowa (3/13) and another pair against North Dakota State (3/16)...Swiped two bags on two tries at UC Riverside (3/8)...Named a first team WCC All-Academic team member.
AS A FRESHMAN (2023): Appeared in 22 games during her first collegiate season, making nine starts...hit .297 on the year (11-37) with four runs batted in and a .786 OPS...her first collegiate start came on March 5 against Southern Utah, and that was a memorable day...her first collegiate hit came in that game, a two-run home run, which propelled SMC to a 3-0 win...recorded her first three-hit performance at Fresno State on May 2 in the back-end of a doubleheader, and she hit her only double of the year in that game...only game where she scored twice came in her third collegiate game (February 25 at San Jose State).
PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Graduate of Everett Alvarez High School in Salinas...a two-sport athlete in both softball and basketball, Castillo has been a star at both for the Eagles...as a junior, Castillo went off to the tune of a .571 batting average, 1.629 OPS, and 15 RBIs with 22 runs scored, while playing outfield and middle infield...she's had a bevy of awards linked to her name, including First Team All-League in softball and Second Team All-League in basketball...she excels in the classroom as well, having been ranked top-five in her junior class in GPA and taking home multiple AP Scholar Awards.
